There will be no Wednesday evening activities June 21 through July 26.
Wednesday activities will resume on the FIRST WEDNESDAY IN AUGUST – August 2nd.
The leadership agrees that it is time for Sullivan Baptist Church membership to take a Summer Sabbatical from Wednesday evening activities this year. Sabbaticals are routinely used in ministry as an opportunity to focus and renew in the areas of personal PRAYER, BIBLE STUDY, WORSHIP, and REST.
We will be taking a break from our normal SBC Wednesday evening schedule to provide families time to refresh. VBS, College Ministry retreat, Children’s Ministry camp, staff vacations, church family travel, and other summer activities keep both children and adults going many different directions. This schedule break will also allow our members who regularly serve on Wednesdays as Volunteers-in-Preschool, AWANA leaders and directors, Student Ministry small group leaders, greeters, and worship tech assistants to have some extra time from ministry commitments.
For information, SBC had a “Summer Reset” in 2019 which proved refreshing for the entire church without any noticeable negative feedback. NOTE: There will be NO changes to the Sunday schedule. God loves you, and I love you!
